Robert Morris University is pleased to announce the formation of a new Painting Guild.  This is a merit-based scholarship program that will accept students with extraordinary artistic skills who wish to continue their avocations as artists during their college years.  Artists who complete the rigorous application process and earn acceptance into the program will benefit from a full tuition scholarship.  They must maintain a specific grade point average and standard of excellence set for their painting activity by the Painting Guild.

They will have artistic coaching and mentoring throughout their RMU college careers.  Additionally, students will have access to a painting studio exclusively for Painting Guild members.  They will visit galleries, studios of professional artists and homes of art collectors, as well as Chicago gallery and museum exhibit openings.  Each year, they will participate in exhibits with their own work created during their RMU career.

High school students interested in pursuing this program at RMU should submit CDs with five to ten digital images of their work – at least three images must be of paintings - postmarked no later than July 1. Following the initial CD submission, there will be three additional stages including a professional artist review, a written essay and an in-person interview.  Students should contact Robert Hutchison, RMU Painting Guild Coordinator, at 312-935-4545, or rhutchison@robertmorris.edu, for application information.

Robert Morris University is a not-for-profit, baccalaureate and graduate degree granting institution, serving over 7000 students interested in getting an education in business, graphic arts, nursing and health care, culinary and computer studies at nine campuses in Illinois.  For more information, call 800-762-5960 or visit the web site at www.robertmorris.edu
