Parkview Christian Church's expanison plans got through the development services committee Monday night, but must get a majority vote from the full village board to move forward.
During the public safety committee meeting, Orland Park Police Chief Tim McCarthy proposed adding an ordinance that specifically prohibits dumping in dumpsters not assigned to people's residences. Currently people are charged with trespassing, and can be fined as little as $25 all the way up to $750, McCarthy said.
The new ordinance, should it pass the full board's vote, would not change the fines, McCarthy said.

Orland Park and Parkview Christian Church have been talking for over a decade about adding to the church’s campus.
But since 2001, the village and church haven’t been able to come to a firm agreement on the best way to do so.
On Monday night, the village’s Development Services Department will present a plan for the church to add a 38,601 square-foot building onto their current 113,190 square-foot space, reorganize their parking to accommodate the new space and build 450 feet of road for access in and out of the campus.
Read the full rundown of the Parkview expansion in the attached media packet.
The village’s public works and public safety committees will also be meeting Monday night, starting at 6 p.m., before the full village board. Packets for the other meetings are also attached here.
Orland Park Patch’s live blog through Scribble It will provide minute-by-minute updates from the meeting on this page starting at 6 p.m. Look in the Scribble It window above, and you’ll see an area where you can join in and offer your comments and questions. Try logging out and closing your browser and then coming back. I see they are in the system, so a refresh should help. Anyone else having this issue?

I've got a not-great picture of the plans posted on the wall at Village Hall I just added. I'll see if the village has a digital one.
