Ross Dress for Less, a California-based off-price retailer, will be opening a new store next year at Brookside Marketplace in Tinley Park.
The 23,344-square-foot store will be built on vacant land between the Best Buy parking lot and a retail strip that houses Sally Beauty Supply, Massage Envy, CiCi Nails and Performance Dental. Construction is expected to start in the spring with an opening later in the year.
The retailer, who entered the Chicago market slightly more than a year ago, has 21 locations in northern Illinois including Southland stores in Orland Park, Bolingbrook, Calumet City and Matteson.
“We started in California and are working are way east,” said Mary Walter, senior vice president of stores. “Customers in Chicago will respond to our great products at great prices.”
Walter said Ross typically offers a wide selection of brand name merchandise for 20-60 percent less than at department stores. Stores typically feature a mix of clothes, shoes, seasonal decorations, toys and home décor.
Walter said Ross hires about 50 associates at each store and has more than 1,000 stores in 27 states.
