TELL THE TRUTH

Please consider supporting John Brudnak and Jayne Schirmacher for the Orland Fire District Trustee positions. The last two incumbents are part of the old boards vision of $200,000 firefighters and increadable waste. We as taxpayes must stop this wreckless behavior.

You're not missing it PYT... the transparency ended when people were able to find out for themselves that the current board has been crying wolf about the excessive spending. I haven't seen any transparency in about a year.

They will BOTH have my vote. I refuse to vote for ANY incumbents for the Fire, library or school districts. I encourage people to show up with lists in your hands so you remember the names of the candidates to oust.

Brudnak and Schirmacher are being supported by the same political party that brought in Evoy and Rhode. These trustees have wreaked havoc on this fire district! Several law suits, contracting with Rhode's office to provide medical services for the District, political hiring of several employees, and not dropping the budget at all! Electing Brudnak and Schirmacher just guarantee that Liz Gorman's tactics will continue to erode this fire department. I will vote for Larry Moran

Yes, Brudnak & Schirmacher are from the fiscal voices party. Their campaign sign colors are red & gold, just like the last time. How ironic the Orland Fire colors are red & gold. Looks like Gorman is trying to get voters to subliminally get votes for them.

Hey John Humphrey if they are all the better. The fiscal Voices have cut over 5million from the budget look and, see just the facts. Now don't go denying this because the facts are there. Go on line line and check the budget, under Maher and now the Fiscal Voices. Go Brudnak and Shirmacker.
On another note has Moran explained yet why he was FIRED?

Mike,

Its weird to see someone use their real name. So thanks. Truth is, I'm not sure why I'm not there anymore. I was only given the "we're moving in a new direction" answer. I've heard of the district take overs for over 21 years. I've always been told there is no money. I was not given any reason. Over the last five years they dumped the building department and use a consultant, sold the only ladder truck the FD had, got rid of a girl from the Village Hall, laid off all of public works and replaced them with Berry Landscaping, dropped the police chief the same day as me, and now the Mechanic/PW Director is now also the Fire Chief. I can't make this stuff up. I'll tell you in May if the district take over was the answer. In the mean time, my lack of employment doesn't displace the fact that your little friends in the Fiscal Voices have not followed through with anything they said they would do. I man enough to admit it....I even voted for them last time around.

Mike, they haven't really cut anything from the budget. I've studied all of the past budgets from when Maher was president & Hickey was a trustee to the present board. Under Maher's leadership, fire engines, fire trucks and ambulances were replaced. Also the new training center was built, the administration building was rebuilt and expanded. Fire stations were also repaired. So to sum it up there were a lot of capital expenditures completed. Major capital work was completed. Something that you don't have to do every year. This is why the budget is lower. Fiscal responsibility on the previous board.

This is the same as having to keep your home in good shape, reroofing your house, replacing the siding, windows, tuck pointing , driveway asphalt/concrete repairs. You don't have to do it every year, but it has to be done eventually. Some years you're ahead, some you're not.

As for another note, was Moran fired or did he resign? He has one impressive bio on his background and his views and ideas. Word has it Willow Springs doesn't want to fund their fire department anymore and unload it as a fire district so its funded as a separate entity. I hear they want to split the area between pleasant view fire district and roberts park district. Maybe thats why Moran isn't there anymore.

5180 00 Trustee initiatives 378,680......What is that for Mike? Doesn't sound fiscal. Fact. That's a little more than $75,000 a piece for each trustee. Who do these supposed fiscal voices think they are? Cook county commissioners with a monthly stipend to spend money on whatever they want at the taxpayer expense?

John,

Love your house on Beacon. Funny thing about that line item, I just received the reply to my FOIA for receipts/invoices accounted to that line item.

The response indicated that that line item in 2012 was for "Wages at Retirement". I will share the documents that show former employees getting paid for their sick time, etc. Funny how their document says Trustee Initiatives. I'm not surprised, are you?
