UPDATED: How to Get Your Girl Scout Cookie Fix

It’s that time of year to indulge your hunger for Tagalongs, Thin Mints and even those coconut cookies.

The new year brings resolutions—and with new resolutions come familiar ways to break them.

The Girl Scouts of America will start selling their tasty cookies on Saturday, Jan 5.

Not sure where to buy them near you? You can plug your zip code into the cookie finder on the Scouts' website to find out.

Can't remember which variety you like best? When in doubt, buy a bunch—or check out the Cookie Guide.

Wondering where the money from cookies sales goes?

According to the Girl Scouts of America, all of the revenue earned from cookie activities stays with the local Girl Scout council that sponsors the sale. This includes the portion that goes directly to the group selling cookies. Councils use their cookie revenue to supply essential services to troops, groups, and individual girls, such as providing program resources and communication support, training adult volunteers, and conducting special events.

As a resident of (fill in the blanks) without Girl scout age girls, I find the troop numbers an interesting approach. I love helping out the Girl scouts (and boy scouts).
What I really need is someone in my location. I attempted to use the girl scouts web site by entering my zip code and nothing happened. I bought popcorn for the first time in years because someone knocked on my door.

I think the scouts need some basic sales/marketing help.

Ditto on Bob's comment. Is there any way to associate the troop number with local schools/churches so we can support our "local" scouts?

I can contact them with that question and update as soon as I get a response.

OK, we've added a few affiliations. We'll update with the rest as soon as we get them. Thanks for the feedback.

My daughter is a 3rd grade scout at High Point School and has been an involved scout for four years. If you need to place orders, contact me at lostsleep2read@gmail.com to order and let us know which areas aren't getting covered. We've got a high concentration of scouts here and would love a new territory. Starting in February we have booth sales. That is when using the online tool (or the app) will be useful. It will pinpoint booth sales in your area.
