11 New Firefighters Will Be Hired in Orland
Orland Fire Protection District Chief Bryant Krizik made a case for adding 11 firefighters to their roster, showing numbers that say paying overtime will cost more than the hires. Outgoing trustee and board president Pat Maher was the one vote against the hires. It was the last meeting for Maher and trustee Bob Cacciato.

New Board and New Leadership for D230
One new trustee and two other incumbents who were re-elected were sworn in as board members for Consolidated High School District 230. Re-elected board members Patrick O'Sullivan and Kathy Quilty, and newcomer Rick Nogal, took their oaths. New president, vice president and secretary were chosen.
