Stutz Voted in as D135's Next Superintendent and More (Live Blog Transcript)

Update
The Orland School District 135 Board of Education voted in favor of Dr. Janet Stutz becoming the next superintendent, with no votes against.
Board member Ann Gentile did not attend the meeting due to a family medical issue.
Stutz begins on July 1, 2013, and will be earning an annual salary of $175,000.
"I am thrilled to be here and I look forward to collaborating with the schools and community as we have celebrations and face challenges," Stutz said. "The transition for me begins tomorrow as a sign goes up in my front yard reading for sale. My husband and I look forward to moving closer to the community here for the next phase in our lives."
Stutz tearfully thanked her husband Kevin for supporting her.
Board members thanked current interim superintendent Carol Kunst, as well as former superintendent Dennis Soustek, for their efforts in the permanent superintendent search.
Junior high graduations will all be held at Carl Sandburg High School on the following dates:
- Orland Junior High, June 3
- Jerling Junior High, June 4
- Century Junior High, June 5

Orland School District 135's Board of Education will be voting Monday night to officially hire Dr. Janet Stutz as the new permanent superintendent.
