With the motorcycle theft added to his list of crimes, I hope the judge throws the book at him for the maximum sentence possible. Joy riding around the streets is bad enough, but to do it an way to taunt the neighborhood and endanger so many people, especially children, makes me wonder what other mental problems he might have, and if that could have lead to more violent crimes to continue his insane need for attention.

the OPPD should be focusing on the drug crime in orland, there is way more of it and that makes me feel more unsafe than one dirt biker

No Samantha, people's personal drug use doesn't affect me. You're now talking about DUI's which if I was involved is a different story. Just because someone is an alcoholic does not mean they will automatically drive drunk. The police cannot prevent a person from doing drugs. I've never done drugs and it wasn't because it wasn't available....every high school in America has more drugs in it than you can imagine.

You said you are a parent yet you are defending him that no one got hurt. So you would be willing to risk your own children's well being so he can have his hobby? Or maybe, you are the parent of Ghost Rider and that's why you are defending him.

I agree his parents should do something, I just don't think other adults bitching at them for his actions is doing anyone any good. Yell at the idiot on the bike. He knows he's doing wrong. He's not 5.

@Bob - I disagree. OPPD did the arrest by the books. Got the search warrant and found the STOLEN Bike, Camera helmet and additional videos in his possesion. Not to mention, the father, who posted the picture of his daughter bound by duct tape on his facebook page wasn't in the picture either, and he wasn't let off the hook.
IT Crime experts are able to prove without a reasonable doubt what computer a posting was downloaded from. In fact, that's how I heard the OPPD located where he lived. Not to mention, you can hear him on the video, so the crime experts can also prove it was his voice. Plus I'm sure there are enough witnesses in the neighborhood who could point him out. Tie that together with all the evidence they found via a legal search warrant, and prosecutors definitely seem to have enough to prove it was him beyond a reasonable doubt.

If the youtube account was set up by him and posted from his ip address, he's guilty.

Tim i think you are the only smart one commenting on this website. i live in this neighborhood and he isn't the only dirt biker. I hardly see this Ghost rider riding around but i see others so all you crazy moms should think about that.

I agree with Sue S. Tim - what would it take to be 'reckless' in your eyes? Him running over a child, someone's pet, damaging someone's car? Or is that all just bonus that he didn't obey the laws of the land and "smoked the police"? I don't think you'd think this was cool if your property was damaged due to this idiot.

no i respect life and second chances. if your stuff was damaged you would have called the cops before, there are no reports of any property damage what so ever. and if he was playing chicken with people or other bikes or cars, i would absolutely think differently, but he isn't riding by anyone other than the one cop and we all know that cop was NEVER in danger

He's not a kid. He's 22 years old which makes him an adult. What he needs to do is find a job.

If you watched the video, he went through more than one stop sign, cars are swerving to get out of his way. He is breaking the law.

It is not up to the taxpayers of Orland Park to provide a place for these fools to ride. Buy (or in this case, steal) a dirt bike- find your own legal place to ride.
And again- he's not a 'kid'- he's 22 years old.
Also- it doesn't matter if the bike was 'street legal'. He was behaving carelessly and recklessly, not only evading police, but taunting them as well.
I'd like to know how many months worth of police call logs you have examined, to know with such certainty that 'no one called the police'. In fact, the police were called many, many times. If you lived in this neighborhood, you wouldn't need the video to see what kind of self-centered and dangerous individual we are talking about. You'd have seen firsthand, how close he came to children on the ball field, how close he came to hitting or being hit by cars, how close he came to pedestrians and animals. His behavior is indefensible - no matter how you try to twist it.

Your arguments and excuses make no sense. I must attribute it to a lack of maturity, education, and life experience.

I agree with Sue S. Orland does not need to "find a place for kids" or adults to ride dirt bikes. If, like you say, dirt bikes are street legal, then they can responsibly driven on the streets while obeying the rules of the road and not being a public nuisance or danger to the community.

Personally knowing people who live in this area, I can guarantee you, this individual was not just someone just trying to ride his dirt bike to get from point A & B be. He took a lot of pleasure out of harrassing people and the police. And if you look at all the youtube groups he belonged to, you can see his intent was to take pride in breaking as many laws as he could to gain high praise from other law breaking motor bike riders across the country. Not to mention, all on a stolen bike.

Maybe the issue comes from no charges being pressed. If a person does something with zero consequences then how will they learn it's wrong? Logically, you would think a 22 year old would know it's wrong to steal. But if he knows nothing is going to happen to him even if he's caught, then why not do it? It seems everything he does is a childish prank. In the video he's mocking the police, there's comments regarding other drivers written in. This is his entertainment. I know he's an adult and I hate blaming parents for their grown children's actions but clearly they didn't give him enough consequences growing up.

According to the arraignment article, he 'has been indicted on felony charges in the past related to resisting arrest and driving a stolen vehicle.' He's a real winner.

Justice served! 18 months! Hopefully, as the judge stated, he will now accept the support and guidance from his parents, and not all the other misguided dirt bikers accross the country who believe this is just harmless fun. In Illinois, it is dangerous and reckless. Not just for him and those he was riding around, but took valuable time away from the PD, that could be needed to help someone else.
