Names in the News: New Chief for Orland Fire
Pleasantview Fire Lt. Ken Brucki has become the new Orland Fire Protection District Chief after a yearlong search.
Ken Brucki, a lieutenant from the Pleasantview Fire District, was selected to be the next Orland Fire Protection District Chief, after a lengthy search. He has worked for 24 years as a firefighter, starting as a volunteer in Merrionette Park, before moving to part-time with the Darien-Woodridge Fire Protection District, and then joining Pleasantview full time in 1994. The 44-year-old Orland Park resident also volunteers with area youth sports.
“I think the Orland Fire Protection District has so many dedicated firefighters and employees who I know want to focus their attentions, skills and professionalism on what they do best, providing the highest quality fire service and professional public safety for the people of the district,” Brucki said in a news release from the Orland district.
