No One Injured in Townhouse Fire

Orland firefighters handled a fire in a townhome Sunday morning, where they found flames within the walls and attic.

A family and their dog were able to escape a fire in their townhome in Orland Park Sunday morning without anyone getting hurt.

The Orland Fire Protection District were called about a house fire on Greencastle Lane around 6 a.m., according to a release from the fire district. Firefighters saw heavy smoke and found flames in the walls on the first and second floors, as well as in the attic, according to the release.

People who live in the townhouse and their dog were all able to exit the townhome safely as firefighters arrived. Firefighters contained the flames within 25 minutes and kept the fire to the walls and attic, though smoke damaged happened on all three floors, according to the district.

Fire investigators remained on scene for several hours afterward, though the fire’s cause is still under investigation, according to the release.
