Nominate Your Favorite Gift Shop/Thrift Store in Orland Park

Patch readers, we need YOU to pick your favorite seller of obscure goods. Nominate your choice in the comments below.

Gift stores and thrift shops tend to have items we can’t live without, but we won’t know until we see them.

Items can include anything a random taste allows. A piece of 1950s clothing suddenly back in style, a rare movie poster, the perfect end table or any item that connects with you, and you can’t find it anywhere else.

Where in town do you shop for goods that can’t be found elsewhere?

If you have a favorite Orland-area gift shop or thrift store, mention them in the comments below and enter them in our 2012 Readers’ Choice Poll.

Here are a couple of suggested locations we know of, but a place still needs to be named in the comments to be nominated.

Neat Repeats Resale

On the Road Again

Beacon Hill Antique Shop

We will accept nominations through July 9.

While you're at it, give a shoutout to your chosen local venue in our Patch business directory. Think of your recommendation as a public service, telling residents the best places to go in Orland Park and Orland Hills.

Beacon Hill Antiques and On The Road Again are two different shops and are not connected, should be separated for this contest

Sorry about that and that I didn't get to it sooner. This was a formatting goof.

As a thrift store you can't beat Spree - excellent prices, good selection which changes daily, friendly staff, and a purchase credit when you make a donation.
What could be better?

Casting my vote for: Family Christian Store (La Grange & 151st Street)has the "item you can't find anywhere else", as the article states. Consumers think it's a book store but it's a great gift shop too!

Every Bloomin' Thing Gift Store...best kept secret in Orland Park! Located on the grounds of the Garden Center. Excellent selection of gifts and seasonal decor. Watch for their "Girls Night Out" on September 28th. It's a blast! Informative classes in Gift Wrapping, Bow Making, Creating a Pumpkin Centerpiece, New Gift Ideas, Refreshments and Raffle Prizes. Friendly, helpful staff will help you with your needs.

I nominate Every Bloomin' Thing Gift Store. They have a great variety of candles, pictures, holiday decor for each holiday and just many unique items. The store is always decorated so cute and the staff are always so pleasant and helpful. Great place to do some shopping not only for yourself but for many gift ideas. Debbie

Folks, the nomination period ended on July 9. But you could real easily support your chosen businesses by writing reviews on their listings. You could open a new tab on your browser and copy and paste much of what you wrote right here.
