Orland Park police reports: Sept. 16-28

 

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 28

Warrant Arrest

Anthony P. Gallatte, 29, of the 9900 block of Treetop Drive in Orland Park, was arrested on a Chicago criminal damage to property warrant. He turned himself in to the Orland Park Police Department around 8:40 a.m.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 27

Jeep Weave

Lance C. Kibilko, 53, of the 14300 block of Homer Glen, was charged with driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level greater than .08, possession of a controlled substance, speeding and driving an uninsured vehicle. Police were called to the 8000 block of 143rd Street about a jeep driving “all over the road” around 2:20 a.m. Police saw a Jeep that matched the description given driving 20 mph in a 45 mph zone in the 7300 block of 143rd Street, and pulled the vehicle over, police said. The officer smelled alcohol from inside the jeep and on the driver’s breath, according to the report. He failed field sobriety tests, and police found prescription pills on him for which he does not have a prescription on record, according to the report.

Ring Nab

Sabina K. Wrobel-Chajdys, 22, of the 9300 block of 81st Street in Hickory Hills, was cited with retail theft. Police were called about a retail theft at JCPenney in Orland Square Mall around 12:40 p.m. Store security saw Wrobel-Chajdys walk into a dressing room with a dress and two rings, but left with the dress and only one ring still visible, police said. The other ring was found in her purse by security after she left the store, according to the report.

Card Carry

Ivan Arellano, 22, of the 12200 block of Artesian Avenue in Blue Island, was cited with retail theft. Police were called about a retail theft at Sears in Orland Square Mall around 8:55 p.m. Police saw Arellano on surveillance taking an SD memory card from a display, and concealing it in a bag before leaving the store, according to the report. Store security noted Arellano was cooperative when confronted, police said.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 20

Wallet Walk

Matthew R. Keating, 24, of the 500 block of Amy Court in Lockport, was cited with retail theft. Police were called about a man held by store security for retail theft at JCPenney in Orland Square Mall around 2:10 p.m. The man was seen putting a wallet in his pocket and walking out of the store without paying, according to the report.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 16

Bat Approach

Thomas T. Rowe, 65, of the 9300 block of Montgomery Drive in Orland Park, was cited with disorderly conduct and breach of peace. Police were called about a man approaching a 13-year-old boy while holding a bat behind his leg in the 9300 block of Montgomery Drive around 4:30 p.m. The officer found Rowe who said he saw juveniles damaging an area of a complex’s pool, and later saw the boy near his home so he carried the bat for his protection, police said. The officer noticed Rowe had been drinking, according to the report. The boy’s father later told the officer that he and other boys found a hockey stick stuck in the pool’s fence, and were trying to remove it when Rowe showed up and yelled at them, according to the report.
