Orland Park Police Blotter: Cocaine Possession; Driving on Wrong Side
Orland Park police reports, May 4-11
FRIDAY, MAY 11
Marijuana Possession
Jercory Spell, 31, of the 7100 block of Hermitage Avenue in Chicago was charged with possession of cannabis, driving without a seatbelt and operation of uninsured vehicle. Police said they found marijuana in Spell’s car after stopping him, around 1:45 p.m., for driving without a seatbelt.
SUNDAY, MAY 6
Domestic Battery
John M. Benz, 21, of the 15500 block of Harbor Town Drive in Orland Park was charged with domestic battery. A man told police—and a woman reportedly verified— that Benz shoved him inside his home, around 9:15 a.m., according to the report.
Cocaine Possession
Jose M. Rosales, 30, of the 4800 block of 24th Street in Cicero was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Police said they found a small bag of cocaine on Rosales, of which he later admitted ownership, while they assisted fire fighters in a parking lot in the 8800 block of 143rd Street, around 11:15 a.m.
Retail Theft
Robert and Charlotte Goodman, 44 and 42, respectively, of the 14100 block of Western Avenue in Blue Island, were each charged with retail theft. Security told police that the Goodmans left a department store around 1:30 p.m. without paying for clothing totaling $324, according to the report.
Robert Goodman was also processed on an Oak Brook warrant for fleeing and eluding.
Marijuana Possession
Nicholas A. Iorfida, 20, of the 100 block of Northgate Road in Riverside, was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with one headlight. Police said they found five grams of marijuana and two pipes in Iorfida’s car after stopping it in the 14100 block of LaGrange Road, around 2:30 a.m.
Passengers Christian H. Acosta, 20, of the 200 block of Memory Lane in Westmont and Nicholas R. O’Connell, 20, of the 6600 block of Harbor Drive in Willowbrook were cited with underage consumption of alcohol. Acosta was also cited with possession of drug paraphernalia.
SATURDAY, MAY 5
Retail Theft
Hollis D. Anderson, 59, of the 15200 block of 7th Avenue in Phoenix, Ill., was charged with retail theft. Security at a grocery store in the 9300 block of 159th Street told police that Anderson hid two packages of steaks under his coat and left the store, around 6:30 p.m., without paying, according to the report.
Retail Theft
Brittany A. Abrons, 19, of the 200 block of Dewey Avenue in Michigan City was charged with retail theft. Security told police that Abrons left a department store, around 2:30 p.m., without paying for clothing and jewelry totaling $272, according to the report.
FRIDAY, MAY 4
Retail Theft
Rebecca L. Sheehan, 32, of the first block of Golf View Lane in Frankfort, was charged with retail theft. Security told police that Sheehan left a department store, around 6 p.m., without paying for a $65-pair of sunglasses, according to the report.
Driving on Wrong Side
Deborah A. Matyasec, 60, of the 1100 block of 79th Street in Darien, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on wrong side of roadway and operation of uninsured motor vehicle. Police said Matyasec failed field sobriety tests after stopping her car near 143rd Street and LaGrange Road, just before midnight, for driving on the wrong side of the road.
