Orland Park Police Blotter: Found Heroin and Blocking Wolf

Orland Park police reports: Aug. 1-6

MONDAY, AUG. 6

Warrant Arrest

Police pulled over a vehicle when the driver was seen not wearing a seat belt around 5:10 p.m. in the 9100 block of 151st Street. A warrant was found for a passenger in the car, police said. Torrin A. Caldwell, 25, of the 18200 block of Ravisloe Terrace in Country Club Hills, was arrested on a Cook County warrant for retail theft.

Bag, Syringe, Tin

Police on bikes were patrolling a parking lot in the 9200 block of 159th Street, when they saw a man sitting in the passenger seat of a car, looking down and he threw a piece of garbage out of the window, around 6:20 p.m. The man was quiet and trembling as police spoke with him, and he had a black pocketknife clipped to his belt, police said. When police asked the man to put his hands on the car, he did so at first, but then started backing away into the officers, and resisted as they went to take away the knife, police said.  Officers found three syringes on him, as well as two glassine baggies of heroin and a burnt metal tin, according to the report. Several empty glassine baggies with an off-white powder residue were also found in the car and on the man, police said. Michael R. Rizzuti, 22, of the 16400 block of Olcott Avenue in Tinley Park, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a hypodermic needle and resisting a peace officer.

SUNDAY, AUG. 5

Domestic Battery

Police were called about a domestic dispute on Trenton Drive around 3:25 p.m. A woman said she was arguing with a man when he struck her in the face, leaving a large fresh bruise under her right eye, police said. When she hit back to defend herself, the man wrestled her to the ground, according to the report. Paul A. Goc, 44, of the 14100 block of Trenton Drive in Orland Park, was charged with domestic battery.

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 1

Weaving

Police were called by two different callers about a reckless driver near 151st Street and Wolf Road around 6:05 p.m. Witnesses said a black Mercedes had been weaving back and forth on Wolf Road, apparently trying to cut off a black SUV from driving, police said. At one point, the Mercedes was perpendicular to Wolf Road from the weaving, according to the report. Police pulled over the Mercedes on Wolf Road near 153rd Street, according to the report. Faris F. Abusharif, 41, of the 100 block of Forest Edge Drive in Palos Park, was charged with reckless driving.

I hope people are paying attention to these police blotters in the area. Anyone who doesn't think there is a heroin problem in Orland and Tinley had better wake up soon.
