SUNDAY, JUNE 17
Stuffed Purse
Police were called to Macy’s about a retail theft around 5:25 p.m. Security said they saw a woman looking more at other employees than merchandise, and was carrying a black leather pursed that appeared nearly empty, police said. The woman was then seen carrying about 20 items into the dressing room, and then left with the purse looking more full, according to the report. Store staff said eight items were found left in the dressing room, police said. The woman left the store without paying for any of the items in her bag, police said. The items are worth $394.11, according to the report. Ingrida Kniciuniene, 29, of the 16400 block of Francis Court In Orland Park, was charged with retail theft.
SATURDAY, JUNE 16
May Not be Safe
Police pulled over a car after seeing it cut across the right lane to make a right turn, and then drive through a gas station without stopping, before turning right into the left lane in the 14100 block of LaGrange Road around 4:10 a.m. The driver’s eyes were red and glassy, and his breath smelled “strongly” like alcohol, according to the report. The driver also admitted to drinking and that it may not be safe for him to drive, police said. Jordan R. Karlson, 23, of the 100 block of Singletree Road in Orland Park, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level greater than .08, improper turning, improper lane use and avoiding a traffic control device.
FRIDAY, JUNE 15
Jeans Ruse
Police were called about a retail theft at Macy’s around 2:40 p.m. Security said a woman was seen taking “several clothing items” into a dressing room, according to the report. She then left the dressing room later carrying only a tshirt and a pair of jeans, and her purse looked noticeably more full than when she entered, police said. Security found clothing items inside her purse, after she left the store without paying, and found tags from the clothes in pockets of the jeans she carried out of the dressing room, police said. Courtney E. Nichols, 21, of the 8900 block of 140th Street in Orland Park, was charged with retail theft.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 13
Dean’s Office Wrestling
Police were called about a student taken to the dean at Carl Sandburg High School for possessing marijuana, and he became combative while in the office, around noon. A male student was taken to the dean’s office after a teacher smelled burnt marijuana on him, police said. The student was searched and three small baggies of marijuana were found, police said. He then tried to grab the bags and run out of the office, and shoved a teacher in the process, according to the report. Another teacher got hold of him, the two wrestled, and the teacher was then able to pin him to the ground until police arrived, according to the report. Neither the student nor the teacher were hurt in the scuffle, police said. Devon K. Hierrezuelo, 19, of the 8800 block of Harlem Avenue in Bridgeview, was charged with battery and possession of marijuana.

I'm confused. How did someone from Bridgeview, who lives clearly out of district, even get to be allowed as a student at Sandburg? Or was he there as a visitor for some other reason?

Must be summer school, but at 19 years of age I sure hope he was a senior looking to get a diploma. Maybe Mom And Dad will now take away his Baggies.

My daughter a student at CSHS said currently there is a list of over 30 students who have Not put in their community service hours yet, in order tp graduate. He could also be in that category.
