Orland Park Trustee to be Named Metra Chairman

Brad O’Halloran could be named this week as the transit company’s new chairman, after a lengthy transition followed the tragic departure of their last chair, according to a Chicago Tribune report.

Orland Park Trustee Brad O’Halloran is expected to become the next chairman of Metra.

Officials for the transit company said the 11-member board of directors would still have to make the final call, though O’Halloran is the likely choice, according to a Chicago Tribune report by Richard Wronski.

Discussions over who would take the helm after former Executive Director Phil Pagano committed suicide, after being accused of misconduct, took over a year, according to the report.

Board members were looking for someone who could both work with interests of the six counties represented on the board, and someone with distance from Pagano, who took his life after an investigation revealed he took about $475,000 in unauthorized paid time off, according to Wronski.

O’Halloran was not available for comment Wednesday.

Great! First, watched him screw over the residents of the town I grew up and USED to love living in. Then had to sit by while her helped push through unfair train fare increases while elminatating the same increase for Chicago Riders as just a Metra board member. Now, can't wait to see what more damage he can push through to screw over even more suburban commuters in this new role.
