Orland Park police reports, June 17-26
SUNDAY, JUNE 26
In-State Warrant
Yacub S. Ibrahim, 33, of the 17500 block of Brook Crossing Drive in Orland Park, turned himself in to police just before midnight on a warrant for his arrest. The warrant was issued June 22 for disorderly conduct and carried a bail of $25,000.
DUI Over the Limit
Laura R. Baricovich, 25, of the 7500 block of 62nd Place in Summit, was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level greater than .08. Police stopped Baricovich after she made a left turn on a red light at 159th and Harlem Avenue around 1:45 a.m., according to the report. The officer smelled alcohol from Baricovich's breath. Baricovich failed field sobriety tests and was also charged with driving in the wrong lane and making an improper turn, police said. She was released on bond.
SATURDAY, JUNE 25
DUI
Anthony M. Diorio, 39, of the 11700 block of South Ridgeland Avenue in Worth, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Police responded to reports of a reckless driver near 143rd Street and Will-Cook Road around 2:35 a.m. A few minutes later, the officer caught up with the car and saw Diorio swerving near 143rd Street and John Humphrey Drive. The car also had only one rear tail light working, police said. During the stop, the officer smelled alcohol on Diorio's breath. Diorio was also charged with improper lane usage, driving with one taillight, and driving an uninsured vehicle. He was released on bond.
Cannabis
Maxymillian D. Adamczyk, 22, of the 11700 block of Mark Lane in Orland Park, was charged with possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia. Police on patrol in the 14200 block of Concord Drive stopped Adamczyk for expired registration around 1:40 a.m. The officer smelled burnt cannabis coming from the car, and found a small amount of cannabis in an empty pack of cigarettes, as well as a glass pipe, police said. Adamczyk was also cited for the expired registration.
THURSDAY, JUNE 23
Retail Theft
Norie I. Odufuwa, 18, of the 100 block of Churn Road in Matteson, was cited for retail theft. Police responded to H&M, 284 Orland Square Drive, around 3:45 p.m. after loss prevention at H&M saw a group of women hand Odufuwa several items, police said. Odufuwa then removed the hangers from the items and placed them into a shopping bag, police said. Odufuwa then placed another shirt it in her bag in the rear of the store, police said. She attempted to leave the store and then was confronted by the loss prevention agent, police said. Odufuwa was released at the scene, but also banned from the mall for one year.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 22
Retail Theft
Caterina Carollo LaBarbera, 61, of the 16400 block of Roy Street in Oak Forest, was cited for retail theft. Police went to Marshalls, 101 Orland Park Place, after loss prevention said Carollo LaBarbera was selecting items from a display and putting them in her purse around 1:45 p.m. and walked out without paying, police said.
FRIDAY, JUNE 17
Cannabis Violations
Devante W. Dill, 18, of the 14700 block of Central Avenue in Oak Forest, was cited for possession of cannabis; and Andrew D. Barbee, 24, of the 14700 block of Central Avenue in Oak Forest, was charged with various traffic violations and illegal transportation of alcohol. Police on patrol just before 3 a.m. saw Barbee turn from 135th Street on to 82nd Avenue without signaling, according to the report. The car also did not have a front license plate. During the stop, the officer saw a half-empty beer in the center console, police said. Another officer saw a bag containing cannabis on the ground near the car, according to the report.
