What do you get when you mix 100 families, a sunny afternoon, the Chick-fil-A Cow, sidewalk chalk drawings and coloring pages for the troops? Tons of fun, that’s what!

Prairie School’s Parents For Education (PFE) hosted a Family Fun Night Sept. 15 and welcomed in the new school year with family friendly activities. Kathy Bauer, the parent who organized the event, said she hoped “the families would come out, have a good time and get to know one another in the process.”

Judging by the smiles on everyone’s faces, the afternoon was a huge success.

To the kids' delight, the Chick-fil-A Cow was “moo”ving around the playground and greeting the Prairie families.

Sidewalk chalk squares were set up for families to demonstrate their artistic chalk drawing abilities. Children also had the opportunity to complete coloring pages to send to the troops overseas compliments of the Orland Park Prairie.

Many families that are new to Prairie School took the opportunity to become acquainted with other Prairie families by mingling throughout the duration of the event while children played on the playground.

Debra Ciaccio, principal of Prairie School, took part in the festivities as well and said the event was a wonderful opportunity for the families of Prairie School to get together.
