This Week’s PAWS Pet: A Playful, Fun Afghan Hound

Can you give an interesting and curious dog a home?

Shadow is a 3-years and 8-months-old Afghan Hound with a kind disposition, and a lot of energy for his size.

He first came to PAWS when his owner could no longer afford to care for him, after medical bills sapped too much of the owner’s resources. Between his size and long curly fur, Shadow gives off the appearance of a mythical creature out of a medieval fantasy book. But don’t be fooled, because underneath is a lovable and loyal dog who has a lot of agility for his nearly 60 pounds.

Shadow is fully trained and housebroken. He does, however, play around like a dog half his size, so keeping small pets and small children away is wise, at least until they are big enough to stand tall with him.

To give this unique dog a home, call PAWS Animal Shelter in Tinley Park at 815-464-7298.

Remember Lexi from last week? She still needs a home too.

He should be turned over to the Afghan Hound Club of Greater Chicago rescue so that they can place him in the MOST appropriate home. If you've never owned an Afghan you cannot properly place one. Do him a favor and contact the AHCGC.
