Justin Jachimiec, the 22 year old who recorded his motorbike antics for YouTube, is accused of recklessly speeding and eluding cops. You tell us: dumb, really dumb or are people overreacting?

One of five videos Justin Jachimiec shot of himself dodging police on a motorcycle, according to Orland Park police. He was arrested last week and charged with three felonies.

“Watch this,” a man’s voice says over the purr of a motorcycle engine.

Within the first minute of a video on YouTube posted on Nov. 23, 2011, by “wheelerdrivebandit,” the motorcyclist speeds by a cop, popping his front wheel up into the air as he zips by. He rounds back and speeds by while the squad car’s emergency lights are flashing.

He calls himself the "Orland Ghost Rider." Cops call him 22-year-old Justin Jachimiec. We've posted his videos here.

When police searched his home, they found a helmet, helmet camera and a stolen motorcycle. He is charged with with felony possession of a stolen vehicle, driving with a suspended license, two counts of felony fleeing and eluding police and other traffic offenses.

Patch caught up with Jachimiec Wednesday night by phone. He was watching himself on WGN-Ch. 9 News. He told us he didn't want to talk about the situation right now.

This goes to show you Orland Park Police have nothing better to do but investigate a kid or should I say "adult" for 4 months who was riding a dirt bike in a neighborhood no where near anyone. If he really gets charged with those felonies, it would be sad. Overreacting to such a silly stunt. 4 months of crime stopping power but none other than the O.P.P. woo hoo. Go to Chicago, if the police heard or got called for this, they'd probably arrest the person for wasting there time when there is much more important things to worry about.

Overreacting ? It was a stolen bike. Plus a suspended license. I guess for that to happen, he's already done a few other things that the police should have ignored, at least by your standards. Or should he be ignored, and Orland can wait till we're in the same shape as Chicago before they act.

According to Chris the police should have let this person go on and on until someone was seriously hurt or extensive property damage. I guess the fact that the motor bike was stolen and his license was revoked should be over looked also. Just what ever happened to common decency and sense. I really feel sorry for the leaders of tomorrow, knowing that the mindset of allot of the young people is just not; lets say within the norm. Although I know that the parents of yesterday ( 50s & 60s) were thinking the same thing about us. Oh what the heck. another bad apple taken out of the barrel and off the road. Kudos to the OPPD, they did their job.

This young man is extremely fortunate in ways that he cannot possibly comprehend that the police did catch him. His lack of judgment is disturbing but the eventual outcome could have been so much worse. My husband was about his age when his life course was changed permanently. He was a senior at U of I and was ready to take the world by storm and wanted to make money hand over fist. He had been riding motorcycles since the age of 5 because his dad had been a semi-pro racer. One day, while obeying traffic and wearing a helmet, a pickup truck pulled out in front of him and sent him flying. He spent 5 weeks in a coma and had to re-learn all basic skills - walking, talking, dressing and feeding himself. He suffering a traumatic brain injury, much like our soldiers are coming home with now. He recovered remarkably, thanks to RIC, but those dreams of taking the business world by storm are now replaced by helping other people with disabilities find employment in the community. It's not making money hand over fist, but the rewards are much greater. I hope this young man comes to realize how fortunate he is. It could have been so much worse than a felony conviction.

I've seen quite a few people, like Chris above, who seem to think that this was a huge waste of police time. First, you have a guy who is taunting the police and trying to provoke a chase with them. In some ways he got that, although I doubt the police are going to put the public at risk by getting in a high speed chase with some guy popping wheelies on a motorcycle. Nevertheless, he wanted to be "pursued" and that is exactly what happened. But he didn't get pursued through the streets of Orland, he got pursued over the Internet, which an IT professional might tell you is a thousand times easier. I would bet that about 8 hours went in to figuring out exactly where this video was posted online. And it probably didn't take long after that to knock on this guy's door.

And for the people who seem to think that it's an overreaction, like Chris above, do you understand that if they were able to stop him in the act he would be charged with basically the same offenses? I have to assume his license was suspended at the time the video was filmed, so there's that charge. Obviously the bike was stolen at that point, so there's that charge. And it is clearly shown in the video that he was eluding the police, so there's that charge.

The guy did something stupid and got caught. I realize in America the following phrase is a difficult concept...but, IT'S THAT SIMPLE.

people are over reacting, OPPD should be focusing on drugs and bulling because those are way worse in orland than one dirt biker. This is this kids hobby and hes awesome! he never drove around people or put lives in danger, if there is a video of him riding on the field during a baseball game that would be different. maybe orland should focus on opening up an area where the dirt bikers could ride! there is no where for them to go around here and its a great hobby! hes not the only kid in orland doing this so instead of trying to make an example of him they should try to find a solution

Samantha! One article is not enough to spread your stupidity??? Again, it is apparent you are a teenager. If you an adult, it's in age only and not mental capacity. In the video, the fact that he is blowing through stop signs, evading direct orders to stop by the police, is more than enough to charge him because HE IS COMMITTING A CRIME. There already has been another jack ass kid on a bike that injured a little girl. How many more of these "adult children" does this neighborhood need to endure? I pay for my home, pay my property taxes. Guaranteed, this jerk does not. Maybe you should grow up, pay for things and realize the value of your home and not wanting your things destroyed cause a jerk has a hobby. He should make sure to check mark the organ donation part of his license. That's the only thing he's good for.

You are stupid, Chris Our tax dollars pay the police to protect citizens. It would only have been a matter of time before someone was injured or killed. Also, he was violating many laws, not to mention, he was in possession of stolen property. You might feel differently if it was your property he stole. Wake up, learn to spell, and learn your antonyms and homonyms, then post comments.

The police cannot walk away from public safety to spend all their resources on the heroin problem of a school district. Parents need to get involved.
