I love that Zarlengas makes all of its Italian Ice and Gelato right there. Everything is very fresh and a wonderful variety of flavors. Great value.

Vote for Jack Frost even though they really are my 2nd favorite. My number 1 wasn't nominated - 2 Sisters Frozen Custard of Midlothian is the tops!

Hi, Mary.
This is the second phase of our Readers' Choice programming. The first asked readers for nominations for their local favorites. We gathered those nominations and created these polls. Apologies if your favorite was not included—it must not have been nominated. Feel free to visit its directory listing and leave them a glowing review telling you just how much you love their products!

Plush Horse, hands down. People come from all over the south and west 'burbs to go to Plush Horse.
Oberweis ice cream s*cks. It used to be good but they've gotten too big and changed their recipe to include a bunch of artificial ingredients. Oberweis has a bitter, chemical flavor, not anything like their previous, more natural ice cream used to be. Sad. Yuck.

There is no beating Zarlingo's. Name a flavor and they have it. The Chocolate Italian ice is soooooo good. Of course, the gelato is great too.
