We Found 'Somebody to Love' at the Taste of Orland Karaoke Contest
It was a hot afternoon of country, rock 'n roll and some rat pack classics at the Taste of Orland Karaoke Contest, but only one could be crowned the winner.
The Taste of Orland’s community stage was rocking Sunday afternoon, the site of the festival’s annual Karaoke Contest. 19 area singers in all, preliminary winners from the three sponsoring restaurants/bars—Danny’s Corner, Rockwelz Bar Meets Grill and Sam Maguire’s—sang their hearts to win the crowd and judges’ favor.
In the end, Orland Park resident Kimberly Roach was named this year’s Karaoke champ. Roach won bragging rights ,as well as a $500 American Express Gift card, after belting out her rendition of Queen’s Somebody to Love.
Angel Birr, of Montgomery, won second place and a $300 AmEx Card. Kevin Suggs, of Tinley Park, won third and a $250 AmEx Card.
