Sandburg Varsity Eagles Defeat Joliet West in Second Half Surge

Joliet West came out strong in the first quarter of play, holding off the Eagles' offense and making a cruicial field goal in the first quarter.  That was the last time the Tigers would add points to the board.  The first half of this game was tied 3-3, leaving this game up for grabs.

The second half Sandburg emerged as the dominant force, with a game changing pick-six by strong safety Wes Shepherd.  With a 10-3 lead, the Eagles' offensive line created the holes necessary to allow running back Lamonte Booker to break through and score a 53 yard touchdown.  The Eagles continued the momentum throughout the second half, shutting down the Tigers' offense and ultimately defeating the team 30-3.
