The Friday night matchup between the Sandburg Varsity Eagles and the Lincolnway Central Knights was anyone's game for most of the night. The Knights scored first on a kick late in the first quarter, taking a 3-0 lead against the Eagles. Both teams defense kept the other from earning another point until the middle of the third quarter when a handoff from Eagles QB Sean Leland to running back LeMonte Booker changed the game. Booker ran nearly 60 yards to score, with sophomore kicker Jon Milazzo making the extra point, giving the Eagles the 7-3 lead. The remainder of the game had penalties on both sides, maintaining the tight score and giving the Eagles the win.
