The Heart and Vascular Institute of Advocate Christ Medical Center is presenting a cardiac surgery presentation along with health fair and screenings at Carl Sandburg High School, 13100 S. LaGrange Road, Orland Park, IL, on Tuesday, February 28, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Dr. Pat Pappas, Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Advocate Christ Medical Center, will discuss advances in cardiovascular surgery with enhanced video footage of an actual cardiac surgery. Before and after the presentation, health screenings and educational exhibits will be available. The public can learn about heart failure, transplants, mechanical heart devices, and risk factors for heart disease. Free blood pressure measurement, body mass index and pulse oxygenation screenings also will be available.
