On Thursday evenings, beginning Dec. 2, Orland Township Youth and Family Services is hosting "Forever in My Heart," a support group for individuals dealing with grief after the loss of a spouse.
The group will meet every Thursday from 6:15-7:30 p.m. at the Orland Township Youth and Family Services office, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave. The cost to participate is $10 per session.
Grief is a natural response to loss of a loved one. Each session will provide a supportive and accepting environment which will pave the way for hope during a time of confusion and crisis.
With many different programs and services at Orland Township pertaining to positive experiences and situations, it's important that residents have a place to turn when life situations are less than ideal. As the individual in charge of the General Assistance program, Supervisor Paul O'Grady is sympathetic to residents' needs in times of distress or emergency.
"Whether it is a financial or emotional issue, like dealing with the loss of a spouse, Orland Township has the tools needed to assist a resident in need," O'Grady said. "Our Youth and Family Services department offers high quality counseling and group activity in a safe and comfortable environment."
Orland Township Youth and Family Services offers various programs tailored towards individuals of all ages. For additional information on "Forever in My Heart" or upcoming Youth and Family Services events, please call 708-403-4001.
