Eagles Varsity Hockey Defeats Mount Carmel in Game 2

The Eagles Varsity Hockey team faced off against Mount Carmel in Game 2 of the Loyola Academy Thanksgiving Tournament Friday night.

With a 0-0 score halfway through the game, the Eagles' Alex Howey finally broke through and hit the net, assisted by brother Adam Howey and Joe Bresingham with 5:43 left in the second period. Mount Carmel followed up a minute later with its own goal, ending the second period in a 1-1 tied game. 

The third period would give the Eagles the advantage when Adam Howey scored early with assists by Nate McCatty and Eric Simkowski, giving the Eagles the 2-1 lead. With less than a minute left in the game Mount Carmel pulled its goalie and Adam Howey found the empty net with assists by Troy Dignan and Alex Howey. The Eagles defeated Mount Carmel 3-1.
