Eagles Varsity Hockey Ties St. Rita in Game 1 of Turkey Tourney

The Eagles Varsity Hockey team tied its first game of the Loyola Academy Thanksgiving Tournament against St. Rita Thursday morning. Scoring first for the Eagles was senior Mike Misheck, with assists by both Alex and Adam Howey. This strong scoring line did it again three minutes later with a goal by Alex Howey, assisted by Misheck and Adam Howey.

Senior goalie Ryan Lewis was in the net for the Eagles and denied shot after shot from the St. Rita forwards in the first two periods.  The third period St. Rita gained strength and scored two against the Eagles, tying the game 2-2. In tournament play, ties earn each team a point--no overtime until semi-final and championship games.

The Eagles play game 2 of the tournament this evening against Mount Carmel. All tournament games can be viewed online "live" via High School Cube: http://www.highschoolcube.com/tournaments/loyola-academy-thanksgiving-hockey-tournament-illinois
