Smith is fifty-three year old mother of two, her son is a U.S. Navy officer and her daughter is married to a U.S. Navy Lieutenant. Smith is married to her husband, Jim, and has been active in many community and civic organizations during the twenty-eight years she has lived in Frankfort.
