Ingalls Physical Therapist and Orland Park Resident Receives Compassion & Caring Award
“Chris has a ‘yes’ attitude.” “Chris takes every opportunity to help others further their technical skills.”
These are just a few of the comments used to describe Christine Leland, a physical therapist on the acute rehab unit at Ingalls Memorial Hospital, who was recently announced as the 2013 recipient of the Timothy C. Field Compassion and Caring Award.
Leland, a resident of Orland Park, received a plaque and a $350 scholarship for continuing education or self-improvement, and was chosen by a selection committee based upon a nomination submitted by a co-worker.

“Chris is well respected by her peers, doctors, nurses, patients, family members, anyone she comes in contact with. It is a pleasure to work with Chris. She exemplifies what an Ingalls employee should be. In every sense, Christine Leland embodies what the Timothy C. Field, M.D. Compassion and Caring Award stands for,” according to the selection committee.
Timothy Field, M.D., general and vascular surgeon, passed away in February 2012 after a courageous 11-month battle with leukemia. As a mentor and teacher/educator to many employees over the span of his 28-year career at Ingalls, Dr. Field motivated others to be the best they could be and advance their careers.
