McAsey’s specialties include anterior approach for total hip replacement, avascular necrosis (death of bone tissue), infected hip and knee replacements, partial knee replacement, total knee replacement and joint arthritis of the hip and knee.

Partial knee replacement may be an option for the appropriate patient.  Recovery from this outpatient surgery takes about half as long as recovery from a full knee replacement, and the patient will have a better function. McAsey uses a technique called Tissue Guided Surgery®, which results in a more kinematically correct and natural-feeling knee.

McAsey is an instructor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. He lives in Lockport with his wife Emily, and daughter Claire.
