Pretty Muddy Women's Mud Run Returns to Orland Park!

Pretty Muddy, an exciting women-only event where participants can let their hair down and have fun, makes a return to Chicagoland this year with an event in Orland Park on September 7, 2013. The Pretty Muddy Farm, West 183 Street, Orland Park, will host the event. Registration for the event is open.

More than a mud run, Pretty Muddy is a 5k adventurous obstacle course mud run for any woman who wants to get outside, spend time with friends and have fun. The event includes 9-12 architecturally safe obstacles, tons of mud and ends with a pretty epic finish line party. Women of ALL fitness levels are encouraged to join teams, create costumes and prepare themselves for three miles of achievement, followed by entertainment, music, drinks and a Pretty Awesome celebration!

“Pretty Muddy is the women’s mud fun run of the summer,” said Pretty Muddy LLC Owner and President Kevin Scharnek. “Our events draw women of all walks, all ages, and every athleticism. We don’t discriminate and that’s how our mud run is set up. We want to inspire, celebrate and most importantly we want it to be fun!” 

Started in 2012 by two businessmen who were inspired by their wives, Pretty Muddy drew more than 8,000 women mud runners to its events across the country. This year, Pretty Muddy plays host to events in seven states including California, Dallas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Ohio and Virginia continuing through December. Last year’s inaugural Pretty Muddy event in Chicagoland attracted 2,000 participants. Organizers hope to entice larger crowds to the Orland Park event in September.

This year, Pretty Muddy is teaming up with the Susan G. Komen organization in support of life-saving breast cancer education, screening and treatment. Registrants who use the code KOMEN will receive $10 off their registration fee. In addition, Pretty Muddy is providing free registration to the first 250 breast cancer survivors to sign up for the event in their community. Women aged 14 and up are encouraged to participate and have fun. Registration for the Pretty Muddy women’s mud run is $69.50.
