The annual Kid's Day at the Taste of Orland Park brings events that are not only fun to participate in, but also are very smile-inducing.
Water Balloon Toss
Five-year-old Eliza Aberilla and her mom may not have won the contest, but they had fun trying. Cooling off on such a hot day was another bonus included while particpating in the Taste of Orland Park's annual water balloon contest.
Public works employee Dave Faltin and his daughter Alaina must have been practicing in the off season. Their balloon toss skills were beyond those of the average participant.

In the end, Zack and Jake Tencza of Frankfort walked away with the prize which was a pavilion party at Centennial Pool here in Orland Park.

Sure, we see these vehicles all over town during construction and in the event of an emergency. It is not very often we are allowed to hop inside and take a look around. That is exactly what people were able to do last Saturday at the Taste of Orland Park.
Firetrucks, vintage police vehicles, bobcats and more lined the parking lot of the John Humphrey Complex. Children and adults were delighted to see up close what these impressive vehicles were made of.
A small tractor seemed to be one of the favorites for photo ops.
If you missed them, fear not. They will all be back next year.
