Construction Update: 143rd Traffic Shifted North While Work Continues

Drivers are still warned to be careful when turning into and out of businesses near the work.

With new concrete in place along the north side of 143rd Street between Southwest Service Metra Tracks and LaGrange Road, drivers can use the new pavement while crews work on the south end.

Turn lanes are usable at the 143rd Street and LaGrange Road intersection, but ready for sharp turns from 143rd heading north or south on LaGrange.

On July 15, Orland Park Public Works released a new traffic pattern with detours for Beacon and Jefferson avenues so crews could work on the south end of 143rd Street, restricting both roads to northbound travel onto 143rd Street.

Pavement and curb removal, as well as sewer work, will continue on the south end, according to a release from the village.

On LaGrange Road, work will include curb, gutter and driveway installations, more concrete installed in the intersection with 143rd Street and more road lighting and traffic signal work, according to the release.
