Families to Cast Off at Lake Katherine Fishing Day June 6

The event will offer catch-and-release fishing, casting lessons for beginners, family friendly activities and more.

Lake Katherine Nature Center & Botanic Gardens will hold its annual Family Fishing Day on Saturday, June 7, 2014 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event will offer catch-and-release fishing, casting lessons for beginners, family friendly activities, and food vendors. Prizes and trophies will be awarded. No fishing license is required for this event.

Lake Katherine, 7402 W. Lake Katherine Dr. in Palos Heights, offers two timeslots for Family Fishing Day. Register for the morning session from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., or the afternoon session from noon to 3 p.m. An all-day session is also available. Tickets are $15 per person for the morning and afternoon timeslots, and $25 per person for the all-day session. For event details or to purchase tickets, please call 708-361-1873. Proceeds from Family Fishing Day support environmental education and ecological restoration projects at the park.
