The sun is out and the winds are dying down in Orland Park as the temperature finally crept back above zero Tuesday afternoon.
The National Weather Service lists Orland Park at 3 degrees at 4 p.m. Tuesday, but with a wind chill of -14 degrees, so it’s not short sleeve weather yet by any measure.
This is, however, the first time in just under two days that the actual temperature is above zero, so that’s worth a smile.
Looking ahead this week, the NWS predicts a high of 15 degrees on Wednesday and a low of 9, with wind chill at around -2 degrees. Snow is expected in the afternoon.
While a few moments of snow may come between now and the weekend, we are expected to keep getting warmer, as high as 36 degrees on Friday and 37 degrees on Saturday.
Schools and other entities shut down are expected to be back to business Wednesday, so for those of you who were off, break time is over.
