Orland Park High School Students Collecting for Humane Society

Help South Suburban Humane Society stock up on some much-needed items Saturday, April 12.


The Orland Park Recreation Department High School STRIKE Committee is doing its part to help animals housed at the South Suburban Humane Society in Chicago Heights. The group will accept donations at the village's Cultural Center, 14760 Park Lane, on Saturday, April 12 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

According to the humane society, items needed include Purina Kitten Food, Lysol Disinfectant Wipes and paper towels. They also need Purina Cat/Kitten Food, Purina Puppy/Dog Chow, newspapers, litter pans, cat condos, large rugs and blankets, Kongs and other dog toys, cat toys, Kuranda Dog Beds, KMR Kitten Formula, Esbilac Puppy Formula and Frontline Flea Protection.

Small animal care items include rabbit and guinea pig food, timothy hay and bedding. Cleaning items needed include 55 gallon trash bags, Lysol and disinfectant wipes, Windex, brooms and dust pans, paper towels, hand sanitizer, bleach, liquid laundry detergent and dish soap. Office supplies needed include 8 x 11 copy paper, postage stamps, Kleenex, Scotch tape, permanent markers, highlighters, staplers and staples. The group also accepts gift cards from WalMart, Ultra, gas cards, Office Max, Office Depot and Sam's Club. All contributions are tax deductible.
