The Orland Park Public Library is closed on Tuesday after burst pipes caused water damage within the building.

“It caused pretty significant damage,” said library spokesperson Bridget Bittman. “It will take some time to clean up.”

Water pipes burst near the teen area on the library’s second floor around 9:10 a.m., Bittman said. Patrons were asked to leave. Clean up efforts are underway.

A decision hasn’t yet been made about whether the library will be open Wednesday.
