It may never actually feel like spring for more than a brief moment, but find out where you can go—and when—to shop like it is.

It’s time for some warm weather and local arugula.

We can’t make any promises that it will ever actually feel like spring for more than a day at a time in Chicago, but at least we can look forward to the start of farmers market season in the Southland.

Evergreen Park

7 a.m. to 1 p.m., every Thursday from May through October at Yukich Field, 89th and Kedzie Avenue.

Flossmoor

Frankfort

Homewood

Lemont

Opens Tuesday, June 3, runs 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Located in Talcott Square Parking Lot (Stephen and Talcott streets).

Mokena

New Lenox

Oak Forest

7 a.m. to noon, Saturdays June through October, at Oak Forest Metra Station, 4850 W. 159th St.

Oak Lawn 

7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays in May through October, at 52nd and Cook avenues; 708-499-7744 or oaklawn-il.gov. No market second Wednesday in September. 

Orland Park

7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays, June 6 to Oct. 3 (excluding July 4 and Aug. 1), at Orland Park Village Center, 14700 Ravinia Ave. Market features bi-monthly chef demos on sustainable and healthy living.
