Orland Township Showcasing Park and Prairie Schools Student Art

The walls of the Orland Township Administration Center, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., are adorned with artwork created by students of District 135’s Park and Prairie schools.

Student artwork can be viewed Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. until May 26.

The following Prairie School students’ artwork is on display, Ayoub Yassin (third grade), Jazmin Valencia (second grade), Jason Barnes (first grade), Payton Prodoehl (first grade) and Katie Scuderi (third grade).

The following Park School students’ artwork is on display, Bryan Lee (first grade), Logan Covolo (first grade), Claire Senft (first grade), Meghan Wise (second grade), Mia Glomb (first grade) and Olivia Szelazek (second grade).

Orland Township began displaying local student art in December 2010 as a means to showcase the talent within the community, as well as a way to conserve Township funds under Supervisor Paul O’Grady’s direction.

"These young artists really show the talent that is growing in Orland Township," O'Grady said. "Orland Township is lucky to have such a vibrant community of artists and we're lucky that we get a chance to showcase these young talents. Everyone should come see these works."

The artwork wall will be updated with new arrivals periodically and local schools are encouraged to submit student artwork.
