The Fantastic Toy Shoppe

The Center for Performing Arts at Governors State University proudly presents professional touring children's theater company The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati's "The Fantastic Toy Shoppe," a new heart-warming musical that will surely become a holiday classic.  This delightful show is part of The Center's "Especially for Kids" series, and provides an enjoyable afternoon of entertainment appropriate for families with children ages 5-11. "The Fantastic Toy Shoppe" features a script with lovable characters portrayed by an ensemble of live actors and memorable music.

Experience the hustle and bustle of the holiday season as the owners of a small toy shop struggle to make ends meet and pay their rent. When a mysterious poor gentleman arrives in search of a special toy, the kindness of the toymaker sparks a series of magical events. Songs and fantasy celebrate the holiday spirit and the joy of giving. The production provides enriching experiences in music, language arts, reading and mythology.
