"Wizard of Oz" Children's Auditions

The Village of Orland Park Theatre Troupe will hold auditions for its spring musical, "The Wizard of Oz," in early January. Performances, at the Carl Sandburg High School Performing Arts Center, will be April 29, 30 and May 1.

Children age six and older are invited to audition on Sunday, January 9 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Orland Park's Old Village Hall, 14415 South Beacon Avenue. All munchkin roles will be played by children less than five feet tall. Children taller than five feet will be considered for other non-principal roles, including the Ozians.

Adult auditions will be held on Monday, January 10 from 7:00 P.M. until 10:00 p.m. at the Old Village Hall. Call-backs will be Tuesday, January 11 from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

Those auditioning must sing sixteen measures of a prepared piece of music from the show, be prepared to learn and perform a dance and read from the script. Dance attire or comfortable clothes are recommended. Once cast, participants must pay a registration fee.

Rehearsals will be held Sunday afternoons and Monday and Thursday evenings, February 6 to April 28.
