Jerling Jr. High recently hosted its annual Veterans Breakfast to pay tribute to men and women of the United States armed forces. Grandparents, parents, and members of local Veterans of Foreign Wars chapters enjoyed pancakes, bacon, hash browns, and coffee. Choir and orchestra students played a variety of patriotic songs, and members of the Jerling Jr. High band performed the Prisoners of War, Missing in Action table setting ceremony, led by band director Jack Kinsella. Teachers Tim Kantor and Rebecca Tompkins organized the program, held annually prior to Memorial Day. Kantor and colleagues Gerry Dignan and Gary Gow also performed.
