Frank Thomas’ Beer and More at the 2012 Brew and Vine Fest

Hundreds of people came to Tinley Park Saturday to try beer and wine, but also to meet a beloved baseball hero.

White Sox slugger Frank Thomas has spent part of his retired time building buzz around a brew named after him, the Big Hurt Beer. Thomas appeared at the 3rd annual Tinley Park Brew and Vine Festival Saturday with plenty of Big Hurt Beer to share with attendees, along with photo ops.

Big Hurt was among 47 vendors each offering samples of beer, wine and specialty foods throughout the day at the . In a single pass, you could sample bourbon-barrel-aged mead, an India Pale Ale cider, Indian samosas, an 8-year aged cheddar, miniature cupcakes and other signature brews and wares.
