Nicholas Kapellas was interested in opening a different type of restaurant that he felt could stand alone along the eatery-heavy strip of LaGrange Road.
He decided to go with the “polished casual” of Bonefish Grill, a seafood restaurant chain that butchers their fish in house among other steps to ensure freshness.
“If you want a fine dining experience, we can do that,” said Kapellas, managing partner of the Orland Park restaurant. “But if you just want a burger and a beer, we can do that too.”
The restaurant at 15537 S. LaGrange Road includes wood-grilled fish, lobster, shellfish, steaks, burgers, chicken and pork chops. Other seafood items include fish and chips, crab cakes, ahi tuna sashimi, fried calamari and their well-known Bang Bang Shrimp. Seasonal specials will be featured throughout the year, both as vegetable sides and main entrees.
The restaurant also includes a wine selection with bottles from Sonoma and Napa, as well as the Russian River Valley. Seasonal craft beers from local breweries also are offered.
Brunch is offered on Sunday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. with different takes on Eggs Benedict, crème brulee French toast and seafood omelets.
Prior to their grand opening, Bonefish Grill held a fundraising dinner for Together We Cope, raising $8,815 for the non-profit.
