John Mackey and Family Open New Pub At ‘Spur of Moment’

Mackey's Pub will hold its grand opening in Orland Park all day Saturday with food and drink specials, and a live performance from Stellar Road.

The Mackeys were already busy when they decided to open their new bar and restaurant, at 9400 W. 143rd St.

“There’s me, my wife Maureen, my daughter Eileen and my other daughter Meghan,” said John Mackey. “Everyone was working full time jobs, so I decided between four part timers we can have one full time employee.”

But when the chance came about for the Mackeys to open a new pub near where they live in Orland Park, they went for it.
