When Minas Litos extended his family restaurant chain to Orland Park his goal was to compete in an area already inundated with food options. He took over the old space of Connie’s Pizza location, 16310 South LaGrange Road, completed renovations that included a name change to Café 24 and reopened the doors in November.
The community response wasn’t exactly in Litos’ business plan.
“Residents thought the café was a higher end bistro," General Manager Robert Withrow said.
There were a lot of calls for reservations, something the restaurant doesn’t take and calls inquiring about alcohol which is something the restaurant doesn’t serve. Also, customers didn’t always get that the restaurant was open 24 hours based strictly on its name.
After seven months, the decision was made to change the name to Round The Clock, also the name of Litos’ other restaurant locations. Almost instantly sales increased 20 percent and customers doubled.
Round The Clock restaurant is styled to reflect different European countries. Rustic red brick walls and open spaces adhere to its family-friendly atmosphere. Customers have the option of breakfast, lunch or dinner at any hour. Its hefty servings and daily specials have proven to be a crowd pleaser.
