Twinkies for Baby's: Local Eatery Honored for Sweet Promotion

The owners of Baby's Steak and Lemonade were thrilled to be recognized for their unorthodox free-twinkie promotion last December.

The owners of Baby's restaurant in Orland Park and Country Club Hills received an unexpected surprise this month, reports the Sun-Times Media.

The story goes back to last December, when it seemed all but certain Twinkies and other Hostess products were going to be gone for good. In response to their discontinuation, Baby's owner M.J. Sughayer and his brothers began buying up Twinkies and CupCakes and handing them out to customers with food purchases—over 10,000, according to the Baby's Facebook.

News of the unorthodox promotion spread to the new owners of Hostess products. In recognition of the Sughayers' efforts, Baby's received a free shipment of "at least 2,000" Twinkies. The Sughayer's were also invited to the Schiller Park Hostess Bakery as honorary guests to celebrate what the company is calling the "sweetest comeback in the history of ever."
