In week 15 of the 1984 season, Coach Mike Ditka replaced his backup quarterback with Walter Payton. Earlier in the season, Payton achieved a major career milestone in breaking Jim Brown's rushing record. Over his career, Payton threw eight touchdown passes — an NFL record for a non-quarterback — including one in this 1984 game against the Green Bay Packers.
