Eric Franklin, a 16-year-old Carl Sandburg student and a 10-year veteran of scouting, completed his Eagle Scout service project renovating the archery range at Camp Manitoqua in Frankfort, IL, on April 5, 2014.
With the help of family, friends, and Orland Park Boy Scout Troop 318, complete renovation of the archery range - along with two portable archery platforms and safety signs - resulted in a finished product that will delight Manitoqua campers and help camp personnel provide a safe environment for years to come.
“In choosing my Eagle Project, I have always enjoyed archery, and have attended Camp Manitoqua summer camp when I was younger. I also attended the District 230 Operation Snowball Leadership Retreat at Manitoqua several times. I wanted future campers to have a great experience like I did,” said Eric.
